Exploring Sustainability and Innovation:  A Year 12 Food Studies Excursion to Coles’ Flagship Sustainability Store

A few weeks ago, our 12 Food Studies class went to Coles new flagship store in Moonee Ponds. This store is Coles’ newest sustainability concept store, which has been designed to set a new standard in supermarket sustainability and help Coles create opportunities to reduce its environmental impact into the future. The students had a fun day learning and were fortunate enough to witness firsthand the multitude of initiatives that Coles is currently trialling. From their new energy-efficient refrigeration systems to their package free alternatives, every corner of the store addressed the importance of sustainability.

The excursion served as a reminder that our choices as consumers can shape the trajectory of sustainability efforts. We left with a renewed commitment to make conscious decisions that contribute to a more eco-friendly future.
