Student Leadership Conference
On Friday 7 March, St Albans Secondary College hosted the first Student Leadership Conference for schools in our network. The event was planned and run by students, who organised everything from workshop slides to catering. Conference attendees participated in critical thinking and connection activities like ‘Lost at Sea’ and a jubilee debate, and in workshops about public speaking, responding to criticism, and writing proposals.
A highlight of the conference was the guest speaker, Eangano Singehebhuye, who inspired students by talking about goal setting and making sacrifices. Representatives from the VicSRC spoke about the work of the VicSRC, and how students can get involved.
In the afternoon, four St Albans students spoke about their leadership roles: Josephine Mai, Ezekiel Ong, Stephanie Truong and Elisha Chua.
A huge congratulations to all our student leaders who ran such an engaging and inspiring event, and to all the student leaders who participated in the day with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm.
