Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

At St Albans Secondary College we provide your child with the best opportunities to reach their potential and excel in their educational achievements.

The evolution of technology has had an increasing impact on the way students think, connect and communicate. As part of this, we want to ensure our students gain the skills, knowledge and understanding that will allow them to succeed in a technology rich world.

St Albans Secondary College have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for all students in Years 7 to 12. These devices will be owned by students and their families and can be either purchased through the school’s business partner/s, independent retailers, or brought from home if you already have a suitable device.

Parents who wish to purchase a device through the school’s business partner

Parents who wish to purchase a device through the school’s business partner can order these through Learning With Technologies –https://stalbanssc.orderportal.com.au/ Orders placed will be delivered to the school within a week. The college will contact you for collection. Devices purchased through the above portal will be provided to parents with the school’s ‘image’ (i.e. specified applications and settings) ready for use.

Devices purchased from independent retailers, or brought from home

Devices purchased from independent retailers, or brought from home, will need to be ‘imaged’ with the school specified applications and settings.

All devices brought to the school for imaging MUST have the data backed up, and recovery disks prepared (if appropriate). All devices, including iPads, will be managed when on the school’s network; thus, all data will be lost when configuring. Normal home use will not be affected.
