Senior Interschool Volleyball
The senior boys’ volleyball team put on an outstanding performance at the interschool competition, displaying skill, teamwork, and incredible sportsmanship throughout the day. Representing St Albans Secondary College were Andrew Bawi (captain), Ethan Bui, Tien Duong, Jayden Francis, Michael Milano, Justin Ronquillo, Richard To, Khoa Tran, and Patrick Vo, with Lachlan Tran and teachers Simone Papagianopoulos and Steven Vo providing invaluable support with scoring and morale.
The boys started strong, securing dominant 2-0 victories against Taylors Lakes Secondary and Sunshine College. Special mention goes to Andrew Bawi for his excellent leadership as captain and Khoa Tran, who delivered some amazing serves under pressure. The energy and enthusiasm were high as the team entered the semi-finals, where they faced a tough Gilson team. Despite their best efforts, they fell short, losing to the eventual runner ups.
Though the journey ended in the semis, the team’s spirit never wavered. They supported each other through every great rally and tough moment, proving that their camaraderie was just as strong as their skills. As teachers, it was an absolute pleasure to witness their dedication, teamwork, and love for the game. Well done, boys!

Senior Boys Futsal Team Shows Skill and Determination
Our Senior Boys Futsal team put in a fantastic effort at today’s competition, finishing 2nd in their group after a day of intense matches. The boys started strong with a hard-fought draw in their opening game, followed by a dominant victory in their second match. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, a tough loss in the final game meant they narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals.
Throughout the day, the team represented the college with pride, showing great sportsmanship as both winners and competitors. Dressed sharply in their maroon Nike kits, they played with passion, skill, and teamwork.
A special mention goes to Sidon, our MVP, whose work ethic, mesmerizing skills, precise passing, and crucial goals set the tone for the team. Up front, Aimen was a constant attacking threat, while Abraham and Patrick stood firm at the back, making life difficult for opposing strikers. Ognen and Sidon both found the net three times, an impressive feat on a day where goals were scarce. Kevin To was consistently reliable, and in goals, Richard To was outstanding, making countless crucial saves in tightly contested matches.
And of course, a huge shoutout to the coaches. Mr. Lakovski, convening Boys Futsal for an incredible 16th year in a row, ensured the day ran like a Swiss watch. Meanwhile, Mr. Marinelli was busy incorporating top-secret tactics and making multiple game-changing substitutions—proving once again that no one manages teams better than Italians.
With most of the squad made up of Year 11 players, there is plenty of promise for next year. As Year 12s, this talented group will have the experience and drive to push further into the competition in 2026.
A huge congratulations to all the boys for their effort, teamwork, and resilience. While finals spot just eluded them, they should be proud of their performance—a true testament to their dedication and skill. Well done, team!
