Senior School Report

Term 2 has been a focused and fast-paced time in the Senior Sub School, with our students engaged in a range of academic and milestone experiences. Over the past month, we’ve seen students preparing for assessments, consolidating their learning, and stepping up to meet the demands of senior schooling with resilience and maturity.

Year 12 Progress Reports
Progress Reports for Year 12 students were released on Thursday, 12 June. These reports offer an opportunity for reflection and forward planning. In some cases, students are being invited to have follow-up conversations with their Year Level Coordinators regarding adjustments to their study approach, subject changes, or future pathways. We encourage families to review these reports together and get in touch if further support is needed.

Year 11 Exams
The Year 11 exam period began on Tuesday, 4 June and continued through to Monday, 16 June. We commend the Year 11 cohort for their punctuality, preparedness, and respectful conduct throughout this formal assessment period. Full school uniform and the school’s mobile phone policy continue to apply for all remaining internal assessments this year.

GAT Information Session and GAT Completion
On Tuesday, 10 June, all students undertaking a Unit 3/4 subject attended a GAT Information Session led by Ms Michelle Vieth, VCAA assessor and VCE English teacher. The session gave students an overview of the General Achievement Test and strategies to approach it with confidence. The GAT itself was held statewide on Tuesday, 17 June, and we were pleased to see students approach the test with calm focus and maturity.

Report Writing Day – Friday 20 June
This Friday, 20 June, is Report Writing Day. While most students will not be required on-site, Year 12 English and EAL students will be completing their mid-year practice exam that morning. Staff will also be using the day to finalise reports and continue marking Year 11 exams.

Year 12 Assembly – 23 June
Our next Year 12 Assembly will be held on Monday 23 June, with a focus on preparing for the remaining holiday exams. With the English practice exam already completed, the assembly will help students plan their final weeks of Term 2 and use the upcoming holidays effectively to revise and prepare.

100 Days of Success – 2 July
On Tuesday 2 July, the Year 11s will gather to celebrate 100 Days of Success. This milestone event is an opportunity to recognise individual and collective achievements so far in the school year. Students can expect a positive and light-hearted celebration during school hours. Uniform and regular behaviour expectations still apply.

Year 12 Holiday Practice Exams
Following the English exam on Report Writing Day, Year 12 students will sit their remaining holiday practice exams from Thursday 10 July to Tuesday 15 July. These exams will take place in Nindethana, with some sessions in the Study Centre. Attendance is compulsory, and students should be using the study schedules they developed earlier this term to prepare. These mid-year practice exams are a critical opportunity to build exam stamina, address any learning gaps, and receive targeted feedback ahead of final assessments.

We thank all students, staff, and families for their support during this important phase of the year.
