Debating Teams Do St Albans Proud in Close-Fought Online Competition
On Wednesday, 7th May, our Year 9 and Year 10 debating teams represented St Albans Secondary College in a spirited online debate against Sacred Heart College and Hume Central College.
Both teams came well-prepared, showcasing impressive teamwork, critical thinking, and persuasive speaking. Despite the virtual setting, our students maintained focus and delivered their arguments with clarity and confidence.
The Year 9 team—Lina, Phuoc, and Erica—did an outstanding job in their very first debate, especially considering they were up against more experienced Year 10 students.
Our Year 10 team—Api, Xai, and Eze—gave a passionate and polished performance, narrowly losing by just 2 points in an extremely close competition.
After the debates, everyone enjoyed some well-earned pizza together, celebrating the hard work and camaraderie of the afternoon. Congratulations to all involved—you represented St Albans with pride!
