Enrolment
Enrolment Procedure
St Albans Secondary College has various enrolment procedures in place to accommodate entry at different year levels, and at different times of the school year.
Year 7 Enrolment
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development has a clearly defined process for students transitioning from primary school into secondary education.
During term 2, all grade 6 students will be issued with the Enrolment Application form by their primary school. Parents are asked to nominate up to four secondary schools, in order of preference, which they would like their child to attend for their secondary education. This form needs to be completed and returned to the primary school. Primary schools then send SASC the information pertaining to students who have included our school on their list of preferences. Early in term 3 families will receive notification of enrolment, and additional enrolment forms to complete.
In term 4, SASC will host Parent and Student Orientation Sessions for those who will be joining our school community the following year. Parents who attend the Parent Orientation session will meet the Principal and Year Level Coordinators, learn about school policies and the year 7 program. While there, they will be given the opportunity to complete booklists and purchase school uniforms.
The Student Orientation Day will allow students to meet their classmates and teachers, form new friendships and gain the confidence to have a seamless transition into secondary education.
If enrolling for Year 7 directly from another secondary college please use the Consideration for Enrolment form, which is available from the general office. Please note that completing this form is not a confirmation of enrolment. You will be contacted by a sub-school leader to arrange an appointment if a place is available.
Year 8 – 12 Enrolments
Please complete the Consideration for Enrolment form for all year 8 – 12 enrolment enquiries. This form is available at the General Office. Submit the completed form to the office, along with a photocopy of the student’s most recent school report.
Please note that completing this form is not a confirmation of enrolment. You will be contacted by a sub-school leader to arrange an appointment if a place is available.
