The second half of the semester has seen all middle school students busily preparing for End of Semester Tests and exams. The year 9 and 10 cohorts completed these assessments throughout weeks 7 and 8. These assessments provide the opportunity for all students to show their learning and growth throughout the semester. Semester reports will then be available through Compass on December 12 to all families.
Year 10 students will participate in an orientation program, with those undertaking a Vocational Major pathway in 2025 having attended their VET orientation. Students are encouraged to participate in all orientation activities and attend all days to be best prepared for the start of year 11.
Students in the Middle School have had opportunities to expand their learning through various activities. Year 9 students visited the Marine Discovery Centre as part of their work in Science to further their understanding of marine ecosystems. The hands-on experience and data gained on the excursion will then be applied in the classroom to prepare a practical report.
The Year 10 Formal was an outstanding success, bringing together students and staff for a memorable evening of celebration, style, and community spirit. Held on the evening of December 5, the event showcased the maturity, confidence, and enthusiasm of the Year 10 cohort as they marked an important milestone in their high-school journey. The Middle School team would like to thank all the staff and students who have been working throughout the year organising and planning the event.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our whole school community of staff, students and parents for their support throughout the year. Thank you also to the Middle School Team, Mr. McIntyre, Ms. Le, Mr. Wenham, Mr. Winduss, Ms. Smith, Mr. Yamin, Ms. Vo, Ms. Pearce and Ms. Tran and Ms. Napoli for their work, care and dedication to student growth and wellbeing.
