Years 7, 8 & 10 Girls Basketball

On Tuesday 2 of September the Year 7, 8 and 10 Girl’s Interschool Basketball teams attended a round robin tournament at Altona Sports Centre. The Year 7’s and 8’s played Keilor Downs and Springside West, while the Year 10’s played Springside West, Keilor Downs and Gilson.

Throughout the day all the teams improved in their teamwork and basketball skills working together and showing good sportsmanship. Thank you to Miss Decker and Mr Agius for coaching on the day.

Intermediate Boys Table Tennis

Congratulations to our Intermediate Boys Table Tennis team – Jadyn Nguyen, Dat Ma, Nathan Nigatu, Geoffrey Pham, Andy Tai, David Chen, and Kaden Leong – who represented St Albans Secondary College with pride at the Keilor Division competition.

The boys displayed outstanding teamwork and skill throughout the day, defeating Springside West and Keilor Downs College to advance to the semi-finals. In a strong performance, they overcame Sunshine College, before taking on Kings Park in the grand final.

The team dominated the competition, winning all matches convincingly and dropping only 2 out of 24 matches across the day, an incredible achievement against 4 different schools.

We’re so proud of the boys’ efforts and determination. Let’s carry this momentum into the next round – go the boys!

Year 7 Girls Table Tennis

Congratulations to our Year 7 Girls Table Tennis team – Cara Ramsey, Jenny Duong, Daisy Huynh, and Chelsea Dang – who represented St Albans Secondary College with great spirit at the Keilor Division competition.

The girls played extremely well throughout the day, taking part in many close matches and showing fantastic teamwork. They defeated Kings Park, Keilor Downs College, and Gilson College – essentially overcoming every school in their path – to claim the division title.

Just as impressive as their results was their attitude. The girls were positive, supportive of each other, and showed great sportsmanship while also making new friends with players from other schools.

A brilliant effort from the team – let’s aim to go even further in the next round. Go the girls!

Year 8 Girls Table Tennis

A huge congratulations to our Year 8 Girls Table Tennis team – Nyah Tao, Manaal Waqar, Mya Pham, Emily Cauchi, Avneet Kaur, Alanna Quach, Mai Pham, and Kathlyn Phan – who represented St Albans Secondary College with an absolutely perfect performance at the Keilor Division competition.

The girls were outstanding on the day, defeating Taylors Lakes Secondary, Gilson College, Keilor Downs College, and Springside West. Incredibly, they didn’t drop a single match across the 30 matches played, showing just how much their weekly training has paid off.

What made the performance even more impressive was the way the team carried themselves – confident yet humble, positive with each other, and supportive of everyone involved. The girls are now determined to push further and aim for a spot at the State Championships this year.

Let’s keep this momentum going into the next round – go the girls!
