Alpine School

School for Student Leadership

During Term 2 Gloria Bui (9D), Georgia Cauchi (9B) and Andy Huynh-Tai (9A) attended the Alpine School for Student Leadership (SSL). During their time at Alpine School all students were involved in a range of activities and experiences vastly different from their usual school activities and experiences at SASC. They were all able to form new friendships with students attending from all parts of the state and actively partook in activities including skiing, hiking, cooking and outdoor camping.

Upon returning to SASC the students were asked about the highlight of their time at the school.

  • Gloria’s highlight – Hiking and camping outdoors overnight
  • Georgia’s highlight – Meeting new people and creating new friendships
  • Andy’s highlight – The outdoor activities, learning how to ski for the first time

Families of the students were also able to attend the camp during their time away over a visiting weekend. Students really appreciated the opportunity to see some familiar faces after being away from home for an extended period.

Upon returning to SASC the students are committed to working on their community project during Term 3 and Term 4 with a focus mental health. They look forward to delivering this project within the school community.
