Curious Minds
‘During our time in Canberra for the Curious Minds program, we were exposed to many different aspects of STEM, both in the Australian National University and around the city. We did many ‘Supercharge Sessions’ where we learned about specific topics from people who specialise in the field. These include physics, biology, earth and environmental science, chemistry, and engineering. Along with this, we explored many of Canberra’s famous STEM sites, including Mt. Stromlo Observatory, Questacon, and toured a Geophysics research lab in ANU. We also got to meet so many amazing people and make many new friends with like-minded people from across Australia, as well as meeting our mentors who will give us individual support in STEM over the next 6 months. This opportunity is something that we appreciate so much and will certainly remember, and is definitely something we recommend fellow SASC students to talk to their science teachers about getting involved in.’ – Mikayla HUYNH, Erica SHAW & Gemma TRAN
