On behalf of the Middle School Team, I’d like to welcome back all Year 9 and 10 students and extend our welcome to all new members of the St Albans Secondary College community. Year 9 students have made an excellent start to the year as they transition from the Junior School.
Our theme in the Middle School this term is Together Everyone Achieves More, or TEAM, which was introduced at the year level assemblies. TEAM means we can all have a role in creating a safe and positive learning environment, inside the classroom and in our school yard to be successful.
Our Middle School students have an exciting month ahead, beginning with the Morrisby Career testing and counselling commencing for Year 9 students in week 3. The counselling sessions support students to identify their strengths and suggest possible pathways and future careers. This will enable students to make more informed decisions about their subjects and work experience in Year 10.
You can learn more about the Morrisby Program at https://www.morrisby.com/
Middle School students can apply for leadership positions this term, including Class Captain, CPR Ambassador and SRC. Interviews will occur over the coming weeks and successful applicants announced shortly after.
The Middle School congratulates Year 9 and 10 students on a strong start to the year.
Mr Andrei Alexandrescu – Assistant Middle Sub School Leader
