St Albans Live FM

St Albans Live is a collaboration between LIVE FM School Broadcasts and our Year 9 Advance Program students, providing students with an authentic platform to develop their communication, media and broadcasting skills.

LIVE FM is a global school radio program dedicated to amplifying student voice and giving young people the opportunity to share their ideas, experiences and perspectives with a wider audience.

The program was founded in Melbourne, Australia, in 2018 by educator and media director Ralph Barba. LIVE FM was created to provide students with a real-world broadcasting experience, allowing them to develop practical skills while sharing their voices through radio and podcasting.

Since its establishment in 2018, more than 6,000 students from 300 schools across Australia have broadcast content on LIVE FM. Before going to air, students participate in live radio and podcasting workshops, receiving hands-on training in professional presenting, interviewing and production.

LIVE FM schools record their programs either live at school or through outside broadcasts at locations within their local communities, giving students the opportunity to experience broadcasting in a professional and engaging environment.
