Students in Years 7 & 8 begin their Career Education journey using a range of I discover and I explore activities to help students identify their strengths, interests and values. Students are also introduced to Employability Skills before identifying how they are, and have been, developing them in their schooling as well as every-day life and aligning them to various career areas. This is followed up by the introduction of the Labour Market and how the growth of career areas can be influenced and what kinds of skills are required to navigate this ever-evolving market in the future.
These activities serve as a strong foundation, allowing students to make informed decisions in their middle and senior years in regards to their own personal career aspirations, subject selections and beginnings of their own ongoing career pathways and development.
